CLASSROOMS
Children are placed in classrooms appropriate to their age and development. The director makes placement decisions in collaboration with the parent while still meeting KDH&E licensing requirements to ensure children are in classrooms that best meet their needs.
The center has twelve individualized classrooms. The center offers two infant classrooms that serve children from two weeks to twelve months and walking. Each infant classroom has up to nine children with one care giver for every three children.
There are three toddler classrooms for children twelve months and walking to approximately two years. These classrooms have up to ten children with one care giver for every five children.
The center also has two 2-year-old classrooms that have up to 14 children with one care giver for every seven children. In addition, we provide four preschool classrooms. Each classroom is designed for up to 20 children and has one care giver for every 12 children.
In the summer of 2011, USD 475 Child Development Center will open a school-age classroom that will serve up to 14 children.
NAEYC* Guidelines are followed for the qualifications of all our teachers.
